September 2023

What’s been happening?

As the blossoms sprout into spring so to has Te been a busy bee!
He started the new season by dancing at 6:30am to Beacon Bloom at the Morning People event, followed by our weekly Tuesday afternoon sessions where we prepared a playlist for the Brackenridge Community Choices Ball Event, held on the 22nd of September.
Te and I had a great time playing all the old time classics to get the dance floor grooving, and on top of the smiling dancing faces, Te received plenty of positive feedback after the dancing was done.
Finishing our first gig together, Te and I started to work on the playlist for his upcoming gig at Flux.
To finish off the month, Te and I went to see Christopher Tubbs play a 5 hour set at Flux. A truly legendary DJ, Te and I had a great time dancing, and both learned a thing or two from the DJ veteran. We were the first on the dance floor, and witnessed the progression of music from the gentle hip swingers to the foot stomping peak.
“I liked the music yes I did, it was good.” – Te Ramanui

What’s coming up?

On Thursday the 12th of October from 7pm – 11pm, Te will be hosting an event at Flux called Beyond Limits. This will be an event to showcase his skills and to create an inclusive event in the mainstream scene. We’re all very excited for this one, and hope to be doing more of these events in the coming year! Te and I will be spending our next few sessions together creating a catalogue of his favourite tunes to grace the dance floor with.

If you haven’t already heard of this one, check out the Facebook event page for more info:
